Seeds of Peace We have built a global stockbroker (Auerbach Grayson & Company) that operates in 82 countries, worldwide. Both of us travel a great deal and conduct a lot of business in Israel and the surrounding Arab countries. We believe that one of the solutions to solving the world’s problems would be to solve the Middle East situation. What better way to start than through the young people of that region? Our donation has gone to Seeds of Peace, a camp set in the State of Maine. Seeds of Peace creates a community in which Arab and Israeli children live together in cabins, share meals and participate in numerous summer activities in an environment designed to build mutual understanding and respect for each other. The camp was established in 1993 after the original World Trade Center bombing. It has now grown to offer programs worldwide and includes many children from impoverished countries. - Jonathan L. Amnesty International This year I will be giving to Amnesty International. Amnesty International is a worldwide campaigning movement that works to promote internationally recognized human rights.Amnesty International’s vision is of a world in which every person enjoys all of the human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international human rights standards. Their mission is to undertake research and action focused on preventing and ending grave abuses of the rights to physical and mental integrity, freedom of conscience and expression, and freedom from discrimination, within the context of their work to promote all human rights. Amnesty International has more than a million members and supporters in over 140 countries and territories. It is impartial and independent of any government, political persuasion or religious creed. Their work is financed largely by subscriptions and donations from our worldwide membership. - Jas Singh
As a member of Amnesty International for some years, I would like to make a donation - on behalf of Brendan Wood International - to aid their work in defending human rights around the world. Amnesty International is a worldwide campaigning movement which works to promote human rights. Amnesty International’s vision is of a world in which every person enjoys all of the human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. As Canadian citizens we enjoy numerous freedoms and luxuries.
